MPAP aims to assist candidate countries (Turkey, Croatia and Macedonia) and potential candidate countries in meeting the criteria for EU membership through bilateral projects focused on the transposition and the enforcement of European legislation (acquis communautaire).  The Programme will be open for Bulgaria and Romania in 2008 and 2009 only for projects related to the Co-operation and Verification Mechanism (CVM). Projects identification and selection is coordinated by the Agency for International Business and Cooperation (EVD) and the National Co-ordinator, the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy and Energy.
